Thanks for the further suggestion.  I tried it with load-base set to 
640000, and it got a bit further.  It got past "loading .data, 
done.." to "clearing .bss, done.." then on the next line it said 
"CLAIM failed".

In another message I volunteered to be Michael Wolfson's lab 
technician with the OF 2.4 machine.  Maybe we'll figure it out in 
that process.
