Just to add another data point, I've used mesh under a 1.5V kernel w/o
problem.  This is on a PowerBook G3 Lombard.  My use has been limited
however; I've only used it with a Zip drive, an Exabyte 8205 and an
Archive QIC-150 tape drive.  All have worked fine, although the Zip
sometimes takes 5 seconds or so to respond (eg, if I run "disklabel"
against the Zip, the access light doesn't come on for 5 seconds or
so).
