Hi guys,

I've used UNIX for a while but this is only the second time I've tried
putting it on my Mac. (The first was with mkLinux DR3 on my previous Mac.)

I bought a canned 1.5 distribution from Wasabi. I tried uncompressing
macppc\installation\netbsd.ram.gz to the top level of my hard drive and then
typing

boot hd:,netbsd.tmp

and I got

loading ELF

CLAIM failed

Is there any way to analyze this message further?

My hard drive is still a single MacOS partition. I didn't want to
repartition it until I knew I could run the installer.

I'm investigating other methods of booting (I have to reread the 1.5
INSTALL.html file and see what format the CD is in). Too bad the 1.5
bootloader is not as good as the 1.5.1 one.

Thanks,
