Unfortunately, Mac Box will get MacOS bootrom run unless you 
intercept Open Firmware before MacOS bootrom run.

To intercept, get serial device connected to Modem port (ttya),
set speed 38kbps, and power up Mac Box with
Command + Option + O + F.

(If you have MacOS CDROM and HFS floppy with bootvars on it,
you may change the behavior of this powerup sequence. But
you may not be interested in this way).

Then you may boot either network,floppy, or cdrom etc.
Recent report is saying 
  arp -s hostname Hardware-addr
may be required from tftp server
if the machine is PM7500)
