So, to confirm the obvious:

	o	current doesn't boot

	o	current with reverted wdc
		lasts something like an hour.
		(gdb's testsuite is especially
		good at triggering hangs :-/)

	o	a not so current with the original wdc
		patch posted to the net is better
		(crashes every few days on a m/c
		that runs for 10hr/day)
