as I said back on 4/4, I have intermittant access to unflashed laptops
as well as my own "upgraded" one... now that apple are shipping the
machines with 4.1.8 pre-loaded the old ones are harder to come across,
but if there is anything usefull I could do with old and new firmware
machines sitting side-by-side I'm still more than happy to help...

so my question is - is there anything usefull a non-programmer can do
to help with this problem?
