That's what I did.  I wrote the floppies on a SPARCstation IPX
(NetBSD/sparc, of course) with "dd bs=1474560 if=... of=/dev/rfd0a".
All the floppy image files were 1474560 bytes, too, so if it was
transfer corruption, it was pretty damn subtle transfer corruption.
