Changed the subject as per Allen Briggs indication :)

Well, I've got FreeBSD on a PC, with a SCSI ZIP drive, but... no floppy
device (I think it's a problem with the m/board). I was hoping to do 'dd'
copy the image to the zip disk. Then, with a minimal installation I could
configure the internet services and go on ftp d/loading the rest.

capitalization?? (I just try to avoid using Mac OS as much as PC DOS, if
I can use a zip disk formatted for ffs that will be great)

Umh. First things first. If I succeed with a minimal installation then
I'll be able to see how similar/different things are between a Unix on a PC
or a Mac.

See, I want to avoid Mac OS (I don't know how the system works, and I'd
rather not miss my time with it if I can help it), and I want to avoid DOS (I
don't have it installed anyway, and hope I won't have to).

I really want to learn a better h/w than PC's, and sparcs/alphas/hps/...
are hard (actually, in two words: IM POSSIBLE) to find second hand here (and
out of reach if new). So, Mac seems to be the way. I just wished it was as
easy to install as FreeBSD on PC, but may be things I'm not used to right
now (like openfirmware instead of bios) will pay off in the future.

Thank You.
