I downloaded the 1.5B2 syssrc.tgz, built it, booted it
on a G4 with 2GB physical memory configuration.

sorry, I don't know why it broke.  apparently it faults unexpectedly
in pmap_copy_page() before we've been through pmap_init().
perhaps GENERIC is not expected to run on large memmory systems...
if there a better config file to use, please advise.
