However, if i do recall correctly, they are quite different. 

eg. I was able to install MacOSX 1.0 on my Powerbook2400 and
Powerbook3400, and use the SystemDisk that came with it.

However, the SystemDisk that came with all the DP and Beta of OSX no
longer boots the 2400c.
