Hello,

After having succesfully installed NetBSD-current on my second hard
drive (slave IDE) on my G4 AGP Sawtooth, I went into Open
Firmware to get it booting from this hard drive.

Fool of me !

The whole day, my computer went in the coma !

Whenever I got it to load NetBSD on the harddrive (HD) via the
ZIP ofwboot.elf, the kernel does not find the boot device.

Whenever I got it to load some MacOS stuff, with the (holy
long)command
   boot
/pci@f2000000/pci-bridge@d/mac-io@7/ata-4@1f000/disk@0:9,\\:tbxi

OpenFirmware tells me there is an error (error 300 I think, don't
remember exactly)...

I tried to boot from cd-rom by pressing  the C key when booting,
but nothing happens, the MacOS icon blink with a '?' waitingg for
a boot device to say hello... :-(

I tried 'reset-all' in open-firmware, but it don't work anymore,
it seems the environment is not exactly the same as when MacOS 9
is installed. (i mean the open firmware environment..)

I tried a lot of combination of boot commands but none worked.

Finally, I managed to have MacOS boot again after a long day of battle ! By
making a `reset-all' and a `set-defaults' (or vice-versa, don't remember)
and then a `boot hd:,\\:tbxi' !! BTW, what means `tbxi' ?

So PLEASE, could a OpenFirmware-deus tell me exactly what to
enter in the openfirmware environment to get it booting NetBSD from my IDE
slave hard disk.

Something like :
    setenv boot-device ultra1:?,netbsd        ?

Is there a way to create simple script in open Firmware and just invoke the=
m
a startup to choose beetwen NetBSD and MacOS ? There is the System Disk
Trick, but I don't really understand the doc in the NetBSD-port-macppc, web
page :-(
