I'm assuming you're using a 1.4.1 kernel? Try the 1.4.2_ALPHA snapshot
(ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/arch/macppc/snapshot/1.4.2_ALPHA). It
should work with the whole 256M.
