Unfortunately, my experience (and this was just confirmed by Apple) shows
that RTAS is not fully implemented and mostly non-working on newworld
macs. According to Apple, it's not supported and may disappear in future
versions/updates of OF.

NVRAM access via RTAS on the UniNorth based machines doesn't work :(
