Folks,

I recently asked this question the OpenBSD-misc mailing list, but
discovered that OpenBSD support for PowerMacintosh computers is quite
limited. So, I'd like to ask it here, if you don't mind.

I currently have a PCI PowerMac 7200/90, and I'm mulling over my
various upgrade/replacement options to try to turn this into a
machine that could be supported by NetBSD.

I've tracked down a site on the web that will sell part exchange
upgrades to 7600/120 logic board for $399, which I believe would
allow me to keep my current DIMM RAM (which I spent a bundle on when
I bought it), actually give me a second Ethernet interface (I have
one of those 7200/90s that has a screwed-up on-board Ethernet port,
so I had to buy a card to plug in), etc....

Alternatively, I've found another site that has complete used
systems (PowerMac 7600/132 16MB RAM/1.2 GB HD/8xCD) for sale at
$699.99.

Do you have any advice, or additional details you can give me?
Just what level of support does NetBSD 1.4 provide for PCI PowerMac
hardware -- can it make use of an ATI Mach64 RAGE video card?

	TIA!

Unix is like a wigwam -- no Gates, no Windows, and an Apache inside.
Unix is very user-friendly. It's just picky who its friends are.
