The Apple/Adaptec 2930CU SCSI card doesn't work either.  Kernels either 
see it but can't configure it so nothing on the SCSI can be used, or the 
kernel panics and/or hangs when it gets to configuring it.

This is the Ultra-cheap $49 built-to-order SCSI option Apple offered on 
the G3.
