I'm not excited with whats available for the MacPPC so far.

I've tried to do some X stuff lately and not a single program worked but
stuff like xlogo, xload, xclock...

xbill caused some type of graphic draw error
bochs complained about some unimplimented X window close function
xdoom causes a segmentation fault after loading the wad file
gimp crashes after placing the install window
mozilla breaks from the make command about 3/4ths the way through
imlib (I think thats what it is) is keeping me away from enlightenment
xmess said I compiled it for a wrong bit ordering...

I've only spent afew hours playing with it so far (and 400MB for compiling.
:) ), but how much problems are corrected in -current?

How much of a 'beta' is release -current compared to 1.4?

I've never built a -current before, just waited for a formal release. I
want to use NetBSD as my primary OS (instead of MacOS) but need it to be
semi-stable with X programs.

How would I go about compiling it? Once I get it installed on my 4GB
drive, what do I do next? go into the dir and type "make" then eat lunch?
:)
