Perhaps I'm just not doing it correctly?

I've got the syssrc installed in /usr/src/sys.

I cd'd to / and did tar -zxvpf /path/to/secrsrc.tgz.

I cd'd to /usr/src/domestic and typed 'make'.

Seemed straightforward enough to me, but perhaps there's something I'm
missing?
