Any suggestions? Looks like SCSI cards aren't working fully yet...

Take care,

Bill

Well, I've managed to get quite a bit furthur now. By removeing the Zip
disk from the chain, I was able to get the drive to appear. Still a lot
of SCSI errors though. I was even able to start the process of
installing! Unfortunately, it looks like I may be having problems with
this floppy or the SCSI bus. I can't get very far in the install
process...

Here's a transcript of my last attempt:

Welcome to sysinst, the NetBSD-1.3F system installation tool.
This menu-driven tool is designed to help you install NetBSD to a hard
disk, or upgrade an existing NetBSD system, with a minimum of work.
In the following menus, you may change the current selection by
either typing the reference letter (a, b, c, ...). Arrow keys may also
work.
You activate the current selection from the menu by typing the enter
key.

If you booted from a floppy, you may now remove the disk.

 Thank you for using NetBSD!

You have chosen to install NetBSD on your hard disk. This will change
information on your hard disk. You should have made a full backup
before this procedure! This procedure will do the following things:
         a) Partition your disk
         b) Create new BSD file systems
         c) Load and install distribution sets

(After you enter the partition information but before your disk is
changed, you will have the opportunity to quit this procedure.)
 Shall we continue?
 changed, you will h :0 )[16;38Hax sync rate 6.25Mb/scedure.)

I have found the following disks: sd0 sd1

You did not choose one of the listed disks. Please try again.
The following disks are available: sd0 sd1

You need to choose how the NetBSD part of your disk will be
partitioned.
You have several choices. They are summarized below.
-- Standard: the partitions are computed by this program.
-- Standard with X: twice the swap space, space for X binaries.
-- Custom: you specify the sizes of all the partitions.

The NetBSD part of your disk is 234.06 Megabytes.
Standard requires at least 336.00 Megabytes.
Standard with X requires at least 435.00 Megabytes.
You have elected to choose your partition sizes. You need to specify
the units of size you will use for your choices. Choosing megabytes
will make partition sizes close to your choice, but keep partitions
to an integral number of cylinders. Choosing sectors will allow you
to most acurately specify the sizes, but remember, it is most efficient

to choose partition sizes that are exact multiples of your cylinder
 size, which is 260 sectors.

I will be asking for partition sizes and on some, mount points.

First the root partition. You have 234 meg left on your disk.
 Root partition size?

 Root partition size? [32]:

Next the swap partition. You have 201 meg left on your disk.
 Swap partition size? [128]:

Next the /usr partition. You have 73 meg left on your disk.

We now have your NetBSD partitions as follows (Size and Offset in meg):

id: Size Offset End FStype Bsize Fsize Mount point
 --- ---- ------ --- ------ ----- ----- -----------
  a: 32 0 32 4.2BSD 8192 1024 /
  b: 128 32 160 swap
  c: 234 0 234 unused
  g: 73 160 234 4.2BSD 8192 1024 /usr

Please enter a name for your NetBSD disk

Please enter a name for your NetBSD disk [mydisk]: cp:

Ok, we are now ready to install NetBSD on your hard disk. Nothing has
been
written yet. This is your last chance to quit this process before
anything
 gets changed. Shall we continue?

The program "/usr/mdec/installboot /mnt/boot /usr/mdec/bootxx

error: 256.

This is probably due to choosing the incorrect top-level install
option---like trying to do an Upgrade on a bare disk, or doing a fresh
Install on an already-running system. Or it might be due to a
mispackaged miniroot. Whatever the cause, sysinst did not expect any
errors here and the installation has almost certainly failed.

Check the error messages above and proceed with *extreme* caution.
