Years ago, I had a Quadra 950 with five ethernet cards routing, doing NAT, 
IPv6, DNS, email, dhcpd, and many other things for a pretty large number 
of computers. It was so long ago that I'm inclined to think it was running 
some version of 1.5, but it ran just fine from a serial console. Since I 
also run NetBSD on PowerMacs, I'm quite comfortable doing serial consoles. 
It's really handy when you need to go into single user mode remotely, for 
instance.

I can't imagine support for the Q950 getting any worse, but someone else 
would have to say. And it was very stable.
