well, I tried that, and booted into single-user and
made a new user. Then I booted into multi-user with
'exit'. I did some research after it hung after
checking for ttyE0, and I changed /etc/ttys  (one line
anyway) to identify ttye0 and not ttyE0, (that's what
the device is at least in 1.5), but now it hangs
earlier, at 'setting tty flags'

Also, (once I get past this problem) how much
configuration is required for X? And can it be run in
single-user mode?
