Yes.  Some SCSI devices that work fine with the ncrscsi driver don't 
work at all with the SBC driver.  I have a tape drive that has this 
problem.  Also the SBC driver tends to be slower than the ncrsci driver 
on the same hardware.  But this is all from my memory which is know to 
be faulty.
