I'm sure it can.  I know we're not nearly as fast as MacOS, but I got it
running about as fast and reliably as I could figure out when I was last
hacking on it.  I'd love for someone to post something like, "You idiot!
You should have done it this way!  Now my system is at least twice as
fast!"  Of course, I'd like it better if it were done more tastefully.  :-)
I _think_ I could probably do a bit better if I had the time to tackle
it again, but I don't.  :-(

I know the former is true.  I'm not sure about A/UX-only support.
