I remember a few months ago there was a thread concerning inaccurate memory
usage being reported on several mac models. Kind of like in this ps aux
output clipping:
USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TT STAT STARTED TIME COMMAND
root 179 0.0 0.0 328 0 ?? IWs - 0:00.00 /usr/sbin/sshd
root 94 0.0 1.8 100 284 ?? Ss 6:23AM 0:04.43 /usr/sbin/syslogd
-s
root 76 0.0 0.0 736 0 ?? IWs - 0:00.00 /sbin/dhclient
root 6 0.0 242.3 0 39684 ?? DK 6:23AM 0:58.12 (aiodoned)
root 5 0.4 242.3 0 39684 ?? DK 6:23AM 11:09.26 (ioflush)
root 4 1.0 242.3 0 39684 ?? DK 6:23AM 8:31.36 (reaper)

root 2 0.0 242.3 0 39684 ?? DK 6:23AM 0:00.07 (ncrscsi0:0)
root 1 0.0 0.5 300 72 ?? Ss 6:23AM 0:01.39 init
root 20309 0.0 1.0 332 144 p0 R+ 12:19AM 0:00.10 ps aux
root 0 0.0 242.3 0 39684 ?? DKs 6:23AM 0:00.86 (swapper)
Was this ever figured out?
