I've tried to install the generic 1.5.1Alpha kernel that Hauke Fath
set up:
ftp://ftp.causeuse.org/pub/macbsd/netbsd.GENERICSBC.010314.gz. I have
a Quadra660av with 72 megs of memory and a 500 meg external disk
formated with HD SC Setup 7.3.5 (patched) into a minimum hfs
partition, a swap partition, and a root&usr partition. I have a
Logitech 3 button mouse, but I've tried it without the mouse
connected also. I got 1.5 running on this machine (with sysinstall).
I gunziped the above gz file and copied it to /netbsd. I must be
missing a critical step somewhere. When I reboot here's what I get
(sorry I have to type this out since I haven't got a serial console
to work on this machine):

...

I got a similar panic with the earlier kernel specifically for
quadras: http://www.tangro.de/~hf/macbsd/netbsd-kern-151-alpha.tar.gz.

I've tried installing (from scratch) many of the snapshots that Steve
has been posting, but they all fail with messages like this:

Suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
