I am trying to use my SE/30 as a scanner server for the other PCs on my
network using SANE. I have compiled SANE, but scanning does not work.

Using the normal kernel the scanner is not even seen. Using the SBC
kernel the scan starts and then the machine locks up hard (NMI button
doesn't even work).

The system is an SE/30 with 8MB RAM, NetBSD 1.5 and MacOS 7.5.5. The
scanner is an HP ScanJet IIp. The SCSI bus also contains 2 drives
(Inside the SE/30) and an Apple CDROM (external case). Termination is
correct and there are no duplicate IDs. The scanner works with
DeskScan in MacOS.

Any hints?
