Good evening,

There seems to be some documents in /usr/share/doc on the lpr and
configuring printing. I've groffed, nroffed, man-ed, apropos-ed and vi-ed
it for good measure but can't seem to decode these documents into any thing
human readable. How are these documents read? If its "you print them" out
then I'm in a catch 22.

Has anyone setup an apple LaserWriter Pro 810 for use with netbsd? I've
been scrounging around the net for a printcap but my efforts haven't been
successful. Found a half a printcap on deja, and apple is no help of
course. I got it working with W2K & their lpr client.

Here is my printcap:

lwpro810|lp|PostScript|ps800|AppleLwPro810:\
:lp=:\
:sp=/var/spool/lwpro810:\
:lf=/var/spool/lwpro810/logfile:\
:rp=PASSTHRU:\
:rm=192.168.101.200:\
:sh:\
:mx#0:\
:if=/usr/libexec/lpd/lpf:

The thing spools but when I do: #lpq it says "Warning no daemon present"

ldp=yes is in my /etc/rc.conf
My host ip address is in /etc/hosts.lpd
I've got my printers ethernet mac address and "lwpro810" in /etc/ethers

"#lpc restart all" tells me no daemon is running under lwpro810.

See any thing wrong?

Thanks for any help

Gerald
