Sounds like jig does not have access to your present working directory.
What happens when you do a "su - jig"?

Does anyone know why when I try to su to another user, I get this message:

[11:22am]> su jig
Password:
shell-init: could not get current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent
directories: Permission denied
bash-2.03$

I can then 'exit' back to my previous state. I can telnet or ssh into the
box under the usernames with absolutely no problems.
