I have 1.4.1 up on a IIvx - it gave no trouble whatever, except that, 
as I have Quantum drives, I had to use the SBC version of the kernel. 
I also compiled it on the vx, but the resulting kernel crashed on 
boot with a parity error in sbc. I then recompiled with DEBUG torned 
ON, and it booted! Hard to fix a bug that goes away when you look for 
it! So now I just run the version that has DEBUG on.
