Well, I have a CD-ROM burnt with 1.3.1 so that is what I have been using.
I haven't set up ppp networking because I just use it for things like vim,
xfig, latex, etc and small C-only coding efforts.

However, if you want to fix it you probably want to be using -current. Have
you been able to get remote CVS working ok? Unfortunately I am behind a
firewall and can't use it.

Why not try a 1.3 release and see if that does what you need?
