Correct, Mkfs doesn't do IDE nor can it handle the second SCSI Bus.  It 
probably won't be updated to handle these since we're now on the road to 
use sysinst.

Check in the 1.4.2_ALPHA snapshot area and grab the installation kernel.  
It should do what Mkfs does for you from within NetBSD.  However, the IDE 
support probably isn't in the kernel. Last I heard it was still in 
development for the mac68k port.
