so how about this.  i put a SCSI disk on the PC, format it for mac with 
transmac, copy everything there, put the SCSI disk in the Mac and boot off of 
this floppy image.

that way it's there but i don't need an appletalk network as i don't have one.
or are the Asante network cards supported by this boot disk?  then i could
put it on the network. i only have the following operating systems though.
SUN Solrais/sparc, FreeBSD, and that's it.

but wait, MacOS 7.x doesn't understand TCP/IP does it.  *moan*

ok, putting a SCSI disk on a PC might be the best way if it will work.
