I've got NetBSD 1.4 running on my Quadra 800, using 8-bit internal video,
supported by the alternate Xmac68k (Xmac68k_color), which I don't think
supports higher bit depths.  I'm using my small monitor with it - 640x480. 
I'm not sure if that means the Q700 will also work.
