Now this is strange...

After upgrading to 1.4 (from 1.3.2) on my Centris,
things that would typically go to my xconsole are showing
up in my xterms.

example:
I startx, which starts an xconsole, an xterm, and a window manager.
from the first xterm, I launch two more.

now, if my modem connection drops, then redials back in (using persist)

my xconsole shows the results of the chat script
	>Hanging up
	>Done

but in all three xterms I get the following, which used to
show up in the xconsole (guesstimate from my memory, the text below)
	>ppp connection lost
	>ppp connection established
	>local IP address is xxx:xx:xx:xx
	>remote IP address is xxx:xx:xx:xx
