actually, you _really_ want to do it the pkgsrc way.  Otherwise gnuplot 
won't get registered when installed and then when you try to build or
install the siag package, it will complain that the gnuplot-3.7 package
hasn't been installed.  The depends stuff in packages only looks at
installed packages, not all installed programs (for some good reasons).
