The above chip is a Sonic (i.e. the sn driver).  Why the ae driver is
matching it, I don't know.

What is the exact line from boot that reports this card?

Hmmmm...perhaps that could explain the mismatch, but don't really know
that much about the NuBus subsystem at the moment.  It sounds to me like
some digging around with the Slots program is going to be required.

Allen, do you know anything about this?
