I've got a Quadra 610 with MacOS 7.6 on it, and it won't boot a gzipped
kernel. I've been through many iterations of this, and it did manage to
gunzip a kernel once, but I don't remember what I did to make it behave
itself. Anyway, what I've got now is the following:

Quadra 610, 12M RAM
Normal install of MacOS 7.6
VM turned off in Memory Control Panel
Booter 1.11.2
netbsd-GENERIC.gz from 1.3.1, in same folder as Booter

When I try to boot, I get:

Logging to bootlog
Booting...transparent = 0
MID_M68K executable: entry 0x2e00.
read of 4096 returned -1
Boot error: Short kernel_read. Kernel file corrupt?

*********** Boot Stopped. ***********
Restoring Monitor settings...

I just tried the same experiment again, only with a fresh kernel, and I
get ``The application "unknown" has unexpectedly quit, because an error of
type 1 occurred.'' That's both with and without extensions disabled.

Any ideas on other things to try?

Chris
