I have the two 8/24 cards in my Mac IIcx. Depending on the version of the ROM
installed on the video card, two things will happen: an earlier version of the
ROM caused CLUT problems on my computer when I put 2 256k VRAM and it
was not able to do other 832x624 resolution. However, when I replaced
the ROM, it was able to do 640x480 at millions of colors, 832x624 at
256 colors and 1024x768 at 256 colors. Unfortunately, it now crashes
netbsd when I'm trying to get 8-bit color set at any resolution,
through either the SLOTMAN kernal or with the video_lkm thingey. But
it works fine in black and white. I was going to send something about
this, but I guess this is pretty good thread to mention it.
