Well, the DSP can be used to process sound but if I remember right I think
the actual DAC chip is called the "Singer". If my memory is still not
faultering I think its the same IC used in the x100 PowerMacs so it is
probably a good idea to have a look at the MkLinux code to figure out
how the registers for the chip are laid out.
