Hello,

I installed NetBSD for the first time about a week ago on an external 9Gig
HD that is hooked up to a IIci. Everything worked fine, it booted and
worked.
Since I am not a Unix expert, I made a lot of mistakes while learning
during this week and therefore I decided to reinstall everything clean
again.

I initialized the partitions and since then I am getting the following
error in the installation process (while installing base.tgz)

Error on SCSIRead(), #5
Error on SCSIWrite(), #5
Error on SCSIRead(), #5
Error on SCSIWrite(), #5
Error on SCSIRead(), #5
Error on SCSIWrite(), #5
pos = 0, i = 279, fs = /

I get this error every time exactly at the same point, right after this line:
drwxr-xr-x 3/7		0 Thu Jan 01 07:22 1998 ./usr/include/g++/gen

I tryed to partition the HD both with HDT and Silverlining, I tryed to
change the partition sizes, I reformatted completely the disk using
bad-block reallocation, but.. nothing worked.

P.S. I partitioned it 2GB for the root, 2GB for the usr, 1GN for the swap
and I left the rest of the space free, unformatted.

Any help will be appreciated.

Maurice
