More problems. Hope I'm not getting too annoying.

Trying to setup a local LAN between my two Macs
Centris 610	MacOS 8.1	built-in ethernet
SE/30 MacBSD 1.3	Focus etherlan card

Ethertalk and TCP/IP work when both are booted MacOS so the hardware is
fine.
I configured the machine per Mark Andres' "NetBSD Networking How-To"

Edited the following files.
/etc/rc.conf
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/hosts
/etc/ifconfig.ae0

I can ping localhost, but nothing else.
If I ping the other machine on the net, there is no network
traffic (lights on hub or ethernet interface don't blink)
There were no errors while booting!

%ifconfig ae0

	mtu 1500 media:manual
	inet 192.168.0.3 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcase 192.168.0.255
