I bet the types and creators was wrong. Re-mounting the mac volume
after changing AppleVolumes.system should be fine. (Note: that file is
afpd's config, not netatalk's config).

This mapping should work fine:

.gz       Gzip  Gzip      Gnu ZIP Archive
