Sounds like either some part of the unit itself is magnetized or there's a
strong magnet nearby.  Picture tubes are very sensitive to magnetism.
First, try moving the monirot around and see if it goes away.  If so,
change the environment.  If not, see if the tube has a degaussing button
(some do).  If so, try that.  If not, consult somebody who does TV repair
or something and get your tube degaussed....
