The console under BSD is somewhat minimal (i.e. vt100/vt220 emulation, one
console). This functionality _is_ available after you've logged in,
though, by downloading (and possibly compiling, if you decide to change
certain settings) dt (short for desktop). The dt program basically takes
over your display driver and gives a handful of "consoles" (create more
pseudo-tty devices for more, I think) complete with scrollback, mouse
support for copy/paste, etc. If you want to be logged in as different
users, you can either recompile it to ask for a login prompt on each
console or you can just use the su command to change to a different user
on a given console.

Hope that helps,
David
