I bet what they did was something so that the Multiscan would _look_
like a 640x480@66 Hz monitor for most cards, but would be detectable
as different for newer machines. The IIsi was in the middle in that
it knew how to check for diodes (which previous ones didn't), but it
didn't know about the multisync. So it neither got fooled into doing
the right thing, nor knew what to do. :-)
