No!  Really?  I guess I could believe anything, but surely they kept the
monitor information in the monitor?

I guess I never ran into that because usually the only Apple monitors
around were specifically the original one.

Signature failed Preliminary Design Review.
Feasibility of a new signature is currently being evaluated.
