No flames here.

AFAIK there is no significant difference in the Mac portions of the two
*BSD variants.  What differences existed were short term transient things.

That said, you might ask your question over in current-users (or whatever
it's called) and in the comparable list for OpenBSD.

Signature failed Preliminary Design Review.
Feasibility of a new signature is currently being evaluated.
