Just out of curiosity, if you select the "About this Macintosh" menu
item under the Apple menu, how much memory does it say your system is
taking up?  If you are indeed stuck with 24-bit addressing, it should
say some ridiculously large number like 10Mb or something, because with
24-bit addressing, you can only address 8Mb; the rest gets swept under
the rug.

If it indicates a "normal" value, like a few meg, then you're in 32-bit
mode.
