This happens on my IIcx too, but I was sort of under the impression it was
under that class of things that is continually being broken and fixed, so
don't bitch about it...  So, yes:  shutdown -r, or "reboot" brings the
machine to a black screen which requires hitting the restart button on the
front.  Shutdown -h turns the machine off, so to reboot, I just screw the
power button on and do shutdown -h's.. yes this _does_ work.
