Just for future reference I reran ./MAKEDEV pty0 in /dev and it created the
upper level pty's and now I can use multiple terminals (more than 3
anyways) in dt as well as have people telnet into the machine when I'm
running more than 7 dt terminals.  I haven't tried X yet because I'm
growing to really love dt especially since I've learned that you can scroll
in it and copy and paste and that copy and paste actually copy and paste
everything you highlight instead of X.
