How to get Apple's "HD SC Setup" program to recognize my non-Apple disk?

It is not difficult: Ernst Oud has a page with step-by-step instructions
on how to make HD SC Setup 7.3.5 able to format, partition, and test any
hard disk. The URL is http://www.euronet.nl/users/ernstoud/patch.html
The page even provides a patcher for those who feel uncomfortable with
ResEdit.
